Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was when she discovered a keyboard within her loft and being intrigued by its sounds. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes encouraged her to learn music not to get work or for a passion however, as a chance to grow. In order to do so she wrote her first original compositions. She credits renowned composers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan for inspiration, as well as an appreciation for the style of Bjork. Responding to her mother's advice that her children ought not to aim to be famous through the songs she writes, but rather recognize the significance of their lives and the impact they have on society. She began playing the piano at age six and writing music at age nine. This was not known by her family until she turned fourteen. Aurora has never imagined being famous. She just loves to write songs. Music is her most preferred way of feeling anything.
